Rules of the Game

re the rules:

• You must finish the book within the assigned time frame.
  
  
• The day after the last reading day we shall send out an email asking if you have finished the book ( if you haven't finished, then you must let us know the date that you do), also two book recommendations, and set a date for the book discussion.
  
  
• Melany and Angela will be create and keep track of your responses to the emails on a spreadsheet, which we will distribute at the end of the book cycle, so that everyone knows what is going on. On the spreadsheet we will track the penalties people have incurred, everyone's book recommendation and the suggested book discussion dates.
  
  
• Penalty Fees: For everyday someone goes over the limit, you will pay $.50, after the 7th day, you pay $1. Melany and Angela will keep track of the "late fees" and will inform you of your total prior to the end of reading cycle.
  
  
• Our reading cycle ends in December, so whoever has the best reading record ( ie. less penalty fees), takes the pot. We feel that this will help keep everyone in the group motivated to read and stay the course.
  
  
• You do not need to read all of the books to join. You can join at the beginning of the following book cycle, but it is necessary that you let us know which book you will be reading.
  

** You are responsible to send your payment to the winner at the end of the reading cycle, we will let you know how much you owe and to whom**

Mrs. Melany and Ms. Angela are honored to extend to you an invitation to join "The L.D. Reading Club" (L.D. = Long Distance). Melany and I had the great idea to create LDRC to unite us in spite of the distance that separates us.
