.
I agree with Melany about the whine factor, for a while there I thought I was reading about Meredith from Grey's Anatomy.
I liked how the author explored their friendship and made us understand how and what brought these girls together. Perhaps because of that I couldn't understand Cameron's behavior, not that I condone what Sonia did, but I felt with time, she should have talk to Sonia, and given her a chance to explain.
Her feelings were too over the top at times, similar to a 12 year old or someone who hasn't matured with age. Come on, she was 30 something!
As I was about to be fed up with the whole novel, in comes Will, whom I now liken to Michael Phelps (sooo cute!), but I digress. I liked their story, but again Cameron comes very close to losing that again when she throws a temper tantrum, because she could not understand that the world does not revolve around her and people are not out to get her!.
Anyone who has experienced the loss of a friend, know it can be very hurtful, this novel definitely made me reconsider some things, and I admit I did shed a tear.
The end could have been more conclusive, but I guess it was realistic.
Overall, I give it 2.5 stars (out of 5), and it's in my "Recommend as a 3rd book when reading 4 or 5” category.

my thoughts
Hey ldbc friends, I should not have waited this long to post because my memory is already fading, but here goes....I finished the book on July 24 and really liked it! I agree with Mel-o-drama that Camazon did have a tendency to be a bit dramatic and whiny, but we all have moments like that, no? In the end I liked how she got over it and really put herself in Sonia's shoes. I thought it was a great story about friendship even though it was somewhat confusing to follow because it jumped around so much. So a def. shoutout to whoever recommended it because I really enjoyed it :) Can't wait for the next one.

a tad whiny?

Well, I thought I would start things off by posting my thoughts about this book since no one else has. I hope everyone has had the chance to finish it. Angela and I apologize for not getting things rolling, unfortunately we have had a few other things that have tied us down for a bit. We do want to keep this going so forgive us for delaying.
As for what I thought...I thought the story was rather interesting. I loved the author's way of taking you from past to present and back throughout the book. However, I did get the feeling that Cameron a.k.a "Camazon or Cameronia" whatever she was called, was a bit whiny. After a while this whole woe is me crap just got to me and I actually ended up disliking her and venturing more towards Sonia. I don't know if everyone else thought that, but I did! Plus how weird that they both end up swapping/sharing boyfriends! I don't know about you guys but that is kind out of the question for me. It's one thing to share clothes but a boyfriend? Not an accessory!
All and all it was an ok book, the message was somewhat missing at the end for me, but then again, I kind of was hurrying through it. I give this book a B, if we were to rate it.
paz y'all!
Mel
